At DATUS we feel that recovery is more than effective delivery of medical interventions or structured support, and a substantial part of the building blocks in your recovery should involve positive activities that include trust and responsibility that is proportionate to your ability and desired level of involvement.
Volunteering is an excellent way to become involved in positive activities while undergoing support and with a level of involvement to suit your own needs. Whether it is becoming a volunteer ‘peer’, a volunteer advocate, active in our allotment project or supporting with office duties.
Volunteering at DATUS can be focussed in one area or taking on a mix of responsibilities and duties to help support DATUS. We find that are volunteers are indispensable and a key part of how DATUS works and volunteering is a great opportunity for you to add to your CV and rebuild confidence and work experience.
Volunteers are paid all travel expenses (bus or train) for work carried out for DATUS as well as lunch if they are asked to attend for 5 or more hours.
